October 3 Meeting Notes

Here are the meeting notes from our October 3, membership meeting.

1.  Anthony, from our financial institution, Trustone came in to speak with the membership about the state of our investments and where he recommends we invest going forward.  His recommendations were approved by membership unanimously.

2. 3^rd Vice Commander, Amy Gillette mentioned the 'Adopt-A-Vet' program at the Air Base and volunteered to spearhead that activity with Post 1.

3. Membership report:  we currently have 95 members who have renewed out of 163 members.

4. Finance Officer, Joan Potter promoted an activity through the DAV on October 16 at the State Fairgrounds.

5. 1^st Vice Commander Chris Sam proposed purchasing a social media package from Legion Social which includes 2 social media sites and the website as well as helping us make posters for our events.  The membership felt that the website has been such a fantastic way to promote our Post and get information to members that this extension would be a good move.  The proposal passed unanimously.

6. The Veterans Day meal will be co-sponsored by Post 1 and Eagles 34.

7. We will have an American Legion Family Christmas Party on December 12.  Check the website for further information.
