Who We Are

The Sons of the American Legion (SAL) Squadron 1 of the Minneapolis American Legion in Minnesota is a proud group of individuals who honor the service and sacrifice of veterans by continuing their legacy of service. Open to the male descendants of veterans, the Sons work closely with Legionnaires and Auxiliary members to support community programs, veterans’ initiatives, and patriotic events that enrich the Minneapolis area.

Known for their strong sense of camaraderie and dedication, the Sons of the American Legion in Minneapolis are actively involved in a variety of efforts, from fundraising for local causes to assisting with Legion events and supporting youth and scholarship programs. Their contributions reflect a deep respect for those who served, as well as a commitment to making a positive difference in their community.

Who can Join

You must be one of the following:

  • The male descendant (including stepsons and adopted sons) of a current member of The American Legion.

  • The male descendant of a veteran who served from December 7, 1941 to today.

  • The male descendant of a veteran who died after his/her honorable discharge from any service from December 7, 1941 to today.
