District Convention Wrap Up

Post 1 was well represented at this year’s District Convention, with members from Post 1, the Sons of The American Legion (SAL), and the Auxiliary in attendance.

Legion business was conducted in the morning, with the primary update being that the proposed merger between Districts 4 and 5 will not be moving forward. Members also enjoyed time together during the Past Commanders’ Happy Hour, followed by the banquet and awards ceremony in the evening.

A special congratulations to Lynne Nottage, Post 1 Adjutant, who was honored as Legionnaire of the Year in recognition of exceptional service and dedication to The American Legion.

Attending Legion events is always a valuable experience, providing opportunities to connect with fellow Legionnaires and learn how different Posts are supporting veterans in their communities. As incoming Commander, I strongly encourage all members to attend District and Legion events whenever possible—you will almost always come away with a positive and enriching experience.
