The Post 1 Volunteer incentive program is a program designed with three goals in mind:
To assist Post 1 Members with a path to earn their own Legion Cap, paid for by Post 1, by performing volunteer hours either directly in support of Post activities or in support of non-Post activities which benefit the community at-large
To assist Post 1 in staffing projects, initiatives and programs that help build member cohesiveness, generate new members and benefit the community at-large
Member participation in volunteer activities benefits the Post overall by allowing the Post to claim more volunteer hours on the annual Consolidated Post Report
Highlights of the program:
Members earn points for each volunteer activity they perform or attend
Qualifying activities do not have to be Post 1 activities (Honor system)
Members accrue 10 points for each 4 hours of volunteer time
Open houses count as 2 hours
Each post activity is assigned a point value to be determined on a case by case basis
Points have no cash value
25 points can be redeemed for a voucher worth one free meal at Post 1 only
50 points can be redeemed for a Legion Cap (no matter the current cost) or anything up to 50 dollars in the current Emblem Sales catalogue
Members can accrue 100 points to be redeemed for items in the Emblem Sales catalogue. For example, if a member accrues 150 points and redeems 100 points for items from the catalogue, items from the catalogue, 50 points are forfeited with opportunity to reclaim lost points
